The Good News

The gospel of Jesus Christ is good news, because it reveals a God of love, mercy, and grace, who has involved Himself in the sin and salvation of all mankind.

But first, consider your greatest need ... a Savior!

There are four basic things that you should know.

1.  You are a sinner. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."  Romans 3:23.  "As it is written: 'There is none righteous, no, not one."  Romans 3:10.

2.  You deserve to die.  "For the wages of sin is death...."  Romans 6:23.

3.  You will be judged.  "And...it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment."  Hebrews 9:27.

4.  You cannot save yourself by doing good works.  "Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt."  Romans 4:4.  "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to mercy He saved us...."  Titus 3:5.

Before you can be saved, you must realize your need of forgiveness and eternal salvation.

But here's the good news, the gospel that we proclaim.  "...Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."  1 Corinthians 15:3, 4.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died in your place upon the cross.  "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8.  The Lord Jesus paid the penalty for our sins.  They were judged at Calvary.

God accepted the sacrifice of His Son on our behalf in that He raised Him from the dead.  Jesus Christ is alive and well.  Today, if you don't know Him,  He wants to become your Savior.

Salvation is a gift that cannot be earned.  "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 3:23.

How does anyone receive the gift?  The gift is found in the Lord Jesus.  When you receive Him, you also receive the gift.  You receive Him by faith.  Here's a promise that you can depend upon.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."  John 3:16.

This is the glorious gospel about which we joyfully sing!

Are you willing to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?  If so, pray this simple prayer from your heart.

Dear God, I realize that You have demonstrated Your love for me in giving your Son to die for my sins.  I believe that You raised Jesus from the dead, and that He is the Savior of all who simply come to Him in repentance and faith.  Lord, I come.  Come into my heart, forgive my sins, and save me.  In Your name I pray, Amen!

Welcome to the family!
